Description
Hi All,
I'm an indie games developer and working on a project which has two factions. This competition is to see who can create the most exciting and engaging back story for the universe itself and the two factions. I've included a quick example of my own:
Game story: "The galaxy has a fragile peace, from the shattered remains of a forgotten war the children of once grand civilizations battle to rebuild themselves. The two clear leaders stand fragmented and torn desperate to claw back their status and reclaim their rightful place. Following a discovery of a cheap and abundant power-source the humanoid alliance and the insectoid horde race to control the galaxy. But with rumors of a new threat on the horizon and the constant throng of pirates still profiting from the spoils of war the future is far from certain. With infrastructure still in its infancy and allies spread to wild and distant corners of the galaxy who will prevail? Which side will you choose?"
The Maelstrom faction: "A technocratic survivor of the last war, the humanoid alliance avoided certain obliteration by focusing on science and technology to rebuild their once glittering empire."
The Scalid faction: "The Scalid are a insectoid monarchy, their colonies have been spread far and wide. They battle to recoup their resources and resume growth."
Constraints:
1) There should be an underling feeling of conflict.
2) The universe is a broken one as the result of war.
3) Neither faction should be painted as good nor evil, each is as morally balanced as the other.
